Abstract

This lecture will highlight two exhibitions from the Sigg Collection: Inner Worlds and Sigg Prize 2025 in M+ to discuss different approaches in museum curating. As an exhibition is not merely a display of art, but also a site for imagination, experimentation and knowledge production, the speaker will further share the development of the curatorial framework and demonstrate how curatorial practices can be seen as a medium for artistic exploration.

About the speaker

Ariadne Long Yun is a curator based in Hong Kong. She now works as the Associate Curator, Visual Art, at M+. Long has focused on contemporary art practices in the Greater China region and beyond since she joined the museum in 2018. She has contributed to curating the exhibition series of M+ Sigg Collection (2021-27) and M+ Sigg Prize (2019–26), alongside other exhibitions, public programs and commission projects, including Ho Tzu Nyen’s Night Charades (2025), Zhou Tao’s Jade Jadeite (2024), Ay-O: Hong Kong Hong (2023–24) and The Dream of the Museum (2021).
