Professor Jia Tan will be moderator at Both Sides Now: Queer – Film Talks Panel 2 of British Council Hong Kong SPARK Festival.

【Both Sides Now: Queer – Film programme and talks 】

Both Sides Now: Queer features seven short films (available to stream on-demand between 20-23 October during ) and two accompanying panel talks, looking at the way in which filmmakers are exploring Queer culture, using various film and video techniques to explore aspects of Queer life in Hong Kong and the UK.

【Panel 2 on 23 October [16:00 – 17:00 (HKT)]】
Panellists will discuss how Trans artists and filmmakers can be supported better, what challenges there are and what the filmmaking sector in the UK and Hong Kong needs to do to support Trans makers. Led by our Centre’s Acting Director, Prof. Jia Tan (Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong) with artists Danielle Braithwaite-Shirley (UK) and Beatrice Wong (HK).
